Job Summary: The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's information technology strategies, operations, and resources. This role involves leading the IT department, aligning technology initiatives with business goals, and ensuring the efficient and secure functioning of all IT systems and infrastructure.


Supervises: Implementation Engineer, IT Help Desk Lead, Network Engineer, Systems Administrator


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, help desk staff, and other specialists
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new IT staff
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback
  • Manage work schedules and approve time off requests
  • Address disciplinary issues and performance concerns
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT department
  • Delegate responsibilities and establish clear goals and expectations for team members and projects
 

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies and policies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all IT systems
  • Manage IT budgets, vendors, and contracts
  • Ensure IT security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Lead IT projects and initiatives, including system upgrades and implementations
  • Analyze business requirements and recommend technology solutions
  • Establish IT best practices, standards, and governance
  • Collaborate with other department heads to identify and implement IT solutions
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
 

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; 
  • 7+ years of experience in IT roles, including at least 3 years in a management position
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP) are is preferred

Physical, Mental Demands/Working Environment

Physical Requirements: Light work - exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time). Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours).Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing, bending and moving.
